Accessibility

The arts should be reachable by everyone.

Masterwork aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA in its digital presence and to fund programming that removes barriers to participation.

How this site is built

  • Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure on every page.
  • Full keyboard operability, including a skip link and visible focus states.
  • Text and interface contrast checked against WCAG AA thresholds.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful imagery.
  • Reduced-motion preferences respected for all transitions.
  • Forms with associated labels, clear errors, and no time limits.

Media

Interviews in A Life in the Arts are published with edited transcripts alongside the video, so the conversation is available in text as well as sound.

Accessibility in our grantmaking

Community Arts Awards explicitly allow accessibility accommodations — interpretation, translation, transportation, adaptive materials — as fundable program costs.
